My name is Sarah and I am lucky to live on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia with my husband Peter and 3 children Abby, Cooper and Hannah. Collector of crazy animals (or so it sometimes seems!) I share the couch with Daisy, our dog, and Superman and Lillypilly, the long suffering cats.
I have been in the handmade industry in some shape or form for 12 years and in 2014 I launched Piccolo Studio. I have an obsessive love for beautiful fabric and strongly believe every person on Earth should own one beautiful thing that is all theirs and created just for them. My interest in predominantly children’s decor has landed me in the world of quilting and the love affair is a strong one! I mainly work with people creating custom bedding sets and every so often I get the amazing opportunity to play and have fun.
When I am not attached to my sewing machine I am caring for my beautiful children, 2 of whom have been set challenges that require extra love and support. I fight the good fight as a parent of both a chronically ill child and one who is Aspergers. What does that mean? Well life can get a whole lot crazy around here and when it does we bunker down and batten the hatches until the storm has passed. Luckily it always does.
Blogging is a relatively new side to my business and I have to say, a huge learning curve for someone who is not necessarily tech savvy. I love the opportunities it is giving me though especially when it comes to working with some pretty special fabrics and authors. You will have to forgive me while I learn the ropes though, seems everyone entirely underestimates the work involved until they are actually doing it! Bit like quilting now i come to think of it ….
And for now that is all I can say. However as I am not known to be short of words it is probably fair to expect this section will change as time passes.
Thank you for entering into my corner of the world – I look forward to getting to know you.
