Hello Friends
So this blog post today has been a long time coming. I am genuinely finding time a struggle these days and it doesnt take much to upset the apple cart when it comes to best laid plans. Busy seems to just be my constant state of mind.
But all that moaning aside boy am I excited to share this make as part of the Make it Modern blog tour being hosted by Riley Blake Designs. I was sent a fun bundle of Confetti Cotton Solids in Riley Gray, Riley Navy, Riley White and Butterscotch and decided it was the perfect time to update the main quilt on my couch in time for winter.
The first step was to make these cushions which I love to bits and they tie in so well!
When it came to the quilt I had an immediate design in mind – something i first drew all the way back in June 2018 and then sat on waiting for the right time. I am a passionate lover of gingham and have wanted to great something with a modern twist. So the Gingham Star quilt was born!
Now what is more exciting is that as soon as I took these photographs I drove home and wrote the pattern. I was on a genuine roll my friends and it was wonderful.
Confetti Cotton Solids were perfect for the make, the depth of color is stunning and love the subtle sheen to the fabric, it really feels like quality. It will be used and loved for many years and hold up to the challenge.
To take the photos I drove to a new cafe that has been built right on our local beach. Pearl is absolutely gorgeous and those views are simply perfect for drinking good quality wine and eating high quality local dishes. If you are lucky enough to visit my neck of the woods then this is a must visit stop on your travels.
See. View for days!

And here she is on my couch. Absolute perfection!

PS I took this photo in the early hours of this morning. Hence the dodgy lighting and lack of artistic design. I had been under the quilt drinking coffee and then jumped up to wake the kids for school, leaving this view behind me. What a delight.
