Introducing the Bursting Heart Quilt Pattern {PDF}

Hi friends

Today is the long awaited today. My testers have excelled as always, my pattern is shiny and the Bursting Heart Quilt Pattern is ready to burst out into the world.

Like all of my best laid plans it took longer than I expected but the end result is worth it. 21 pages of full colour illustrations, 2 pattern options and all the information you need to create a wonderful quilt.

I had some much fun with my cover models too – the Bursting Heart Quilt I have already shared and uses Fleur by Down Grapevine Lane. The simpler version uses From The Heart by Sandy Garvais. All fabrics were generously donated by my friends at Riley Blake Designs.

And if you have been following on my Insta you would know that there has been a competition running all week with the winner taking home a fat quarter bundle of From The Heart and a copy of the pattern. I do love giveaways – they just make my heart happy.

The winner of the competition I am happy to say is mumma_ritchie – when you spend Valentines in a snap lockdown then you need some extra love. I will also gift a free copy of the pattern to her pal luvmykatz57

Ladies can you message me on Instagram please so we can get your prizes on their way.

This was a challenging quilt to photo because of the sheer scale of the graphic and the hot Australian summer making pretty backgrounds hard to find. But she is such a lovely design.

Obligatory pretty floral shot -we both know how much I like those …..

Now lets talk about my wonderful testers who, as always, went above and beyond.

Shannyn made the Simple Background for her quilt and used the large fussy cut blocks as an opportunity to make little mini hearts using the Cluck Cluck Sew tutorial.

Kim used Charlie the puppy to model her gorgeous Halloween inspired version.

Jaime made 2 quilts including this stunning Bursting version using Tula Pink.

I love Jac’s version and her gorgeous smile. Side note: she works in a quilt shop so I feel like we need to become very very good friends hahaha.

Cleo opted for pretty simplicity with some fussy cut birds for her version. Such a sweet option.

The pattern is available to purchase now either in my online shop or Etsy store. As always it has a special introductory price for its first week as my thank you to you all.

But first a bit about the pattern itself

  • The finished quilt will measure 60″ x 60″ – the perfect size for your couch and a cheeky nap.
  • It has 2 options including a fun bursting style background or simpler option
  • It is a fast weekend sew
  • It is fussy cut and friendly with larger blocks for your favourite larger scale prints
  • The heart itself can be cut from your favourite fat quarter bundle

I am so excited to release this out into the world and hope you love it as much as I do.

Sarah xx
